That might explain why beaches have had a steady pull on me. I routinely run off to some distant shore to replenish my soul. For the past twenty years, my major fall vacations have been by a sunny beach some where on the globe. I’ve walked the tranquil shores of the Ka’anapali beach in Maui, Hawaii. I’ve dipped my toes in St. James’ beautiful Trunk Bay in the Virgin Islands. There, the sand is as smooth as silk.
One year, the proverbial tides pulled me to the exquisite beaches of Tahiti and the lush water resort of Bura Bura in the soothing South Pacific.
There, rushing is against the law.
Nothing beats meditation by the beach. Just listen to the rhythm of the waves as the tides role in. It calls me to calmness, delivers peace to a mind too often on overdrive.
My Untapped Power And then the waves remind me of my untapped power churning deep within. Like the Pacific or the Atlantic, I am an ocean in deliberate motion. I am created not to stay idle but to make waves; not to break under life’s pressure, but to surge ahead and crash into bits any obstacle that dares to stand in my way.
I am a positive, powerful force to be reckoned with, especially at high tide. That’s when life’s pressures flood the worst. But that’s also when my determination is swept to its greatest heights.
Track them and you’ll find that ocean waves transport energy over vast distances. That energy is power. I too have the power to move and make big things happen in my life.
And like the ocean, I must deal with often unyielding pressure. Such pressure is caused by strong winds constantly blowing over the great seas. That pressure creates the energy that powers the waves. So pressure is necessary. Without it your wave will never form and force you to change.
So, invite in those threatening winds. Let them blow as ferociously as they wish, knowing as Napoleon Hill said: “Every negative event contains within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
So, what are you doing with the mighty wave within? Will you release its unlimited power surge? Or are you content to just slosh around in your bathtub, then pull the plug and let your talents go down the drain? Don’t live a life diluted by discouragement. Don’t let past failures water down your hopes and dreams.
Much like the ocean, you feel that gravitational pull to greatness. Choose to go and make some waves. Make some waves of self -improvement, even if you must start with a ripple. Great success, as they say, is just a series of small deliberate steps.
Tap into the wave within. And ride the surf as high as determination takes you!
